Gradings: April 2006

Congratulations to the following Students who were successful in their recent Gradings. This is just reward for their dedication and hard work, however remember that rather than a Grading being the end, it is really only the beginning, for the hard work starts now as regards continuing to develop your techniques and focus on learning all the finer points of the Sets you have learnt in order to make them become truly fluid and effective if you ever need them.

White Sash: Nigel O’Connell,Keifer Lonergan, Robert Fahey and Mark O’Brien.

Blue Sash: Rachel Dougliss,Damien Walsh, Sean Brown and Stephen Carty

Orange Sash: Chris Maxwell and Chris Fahey.

Green Sash: Irwin Boyle.

We are indebted to Sensei John Aylward of Shotokan Karate Clonmel for inviting us to participate in a training seminar with Grandmaster Jack Hogan held on Monday 24th April 2006 in Bridgewater house. This seminar consisted of pressure point training direct from Kyusho Jitsu and Small Circle Jujitsu that make use of pressure points to render your opponent helpless or unconscious in a self defense situation.Grandmaster Hogan was ably assisted by Shihan John Duggan and Sensei Cormac Walsh of Tipperary Martial Arts Centre in Tipperary Town. This was an extremely informative Seminar and everyone present  learnt and saw something new.

Congratulations to Chris Boyle who on the 1st August 2006 was presented with his Black Sash and Certificate of Merit by Sifu Chris Dougliss and Sifu Dave Bradley.Colin has trained diligently over the past five years to reach this milestone and is very deserving of such an honour.Modest to the last, it will take him some time to get used to being called Sifu and he is well aware that his training has really only just begun.
